Kashmiri word was used to hit us – Rahul Pandita
The word Kashmiriat was thrown upon us as a stone. It’s all because a select elite group chose to repeat a lie that before 1990, all was well in the valley. Rahul Pandita was speaking at a lecture on the subject of ‘truth behind the exodus of Kashmiri Pundits’ at Hotel Shiv Krishna, Sheohar Palace in Patna.
He narrated incidents from 1982 when due to Al Aksa Mosque incident, which was in no way related to Kashmiri Pundits, the minority community in the vally had to face largscale rioting and looting. He also told about the first international cricket match, where cricketers faced religious intolerance. At the time of Operation Blue Star which was a central government decision, Hindus in J&K had to bear the burnt.
He shared his personal experiences of exodus and how thousands of Kashmiri Hindus had to leave their homes overnight to escape persecution at the hands of one intolerant religious ideology. In the recent times organizations like JKLF have been banned, he hoped that this was not only for the polls.
This speech was organized by Global Leaders Forum, Bihar at Hotel Shiv Krishna in Fraser Road. Along with a number of residents of Patna, more than 100 student attended this lecture.
