A few days ago people from a fundamentalist religion choose to disrupt Garba dance celebrations in Gujrat during Navratri. They pelted stones at women and a few miscreants involved were arrested too. Left-liberal gangs were quick to jump to their defense.
Now the Gujratis have started doing the Dandiya-Garba dance wearing burka/Nakabs and hijabs. Much to the dismay of religious fundamentalists, since there’s nothing illegal in it there’s no way to stop it. Besides you can never guess now if the Burqa is being used as a costume or if some regular burqa users are choosing to shake their legs!
